Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of services by Buckinghamshire Medical. By submitting a booking request, purchasing a product, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Buckinghamshire Medical is a private medical service. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) where applicable and operate in accordance with relevant regulatory and professional standards.

2. Nature of Services

Buckinghamshire Medical operates a remote-first model of care. All appointment requests are subject to an initial remote clinical assessment or triage, usually conducted via online video or telephone consultation.

Submission of a booking request or purchase of a product does not guarantee that a consultation, clinical review, or prescription will be offered.

Following triage, the clinician may:

  • offer a remote consultation;
  • arrange an in-person assessment;
  • arrange a home or workplace visit where clinically appropriate;
  • provide advice only; or
  • signpost or refer you to another appropriate service.

Buckinghamshire Medical does not provide emergency medical services.

3. Suitability and Emergencies

Our services are not suitable for medical emergencies or life-threatening conditions. If you experience symptoms such as chest pain, severe shortness of breath, collapse, loss of consciousness, stroke-like symptoms, or thoughts of self-harm, you must seek immediate medical assistance via 999NHS 111, or your nearest Accident & Emergency department.

If, at any stage, a clinician determines that your condition is not suitable for management through our service, you will be advised of appropriate next steps.

4. Remote Consultations

Remote consultations are conducted via secure video or telephone platforms. While remote consultations are appropriate for many conditions, they have limitations and may not allow for physical examination.

By using our services, you acknowledge and accept these limitations. Where a physical examination is required to make a safe clinical decision, a remote consultation may not proceed or may be followed by an in-person assessment or referral.

5. In-Person Assessments and Mobile Doctors Services

Where clinically appropriate, Buckinghamshire Medical may offer in-person assessments. These may take place in:

  • the patient’s home;
  • the patient’s workplace or another suitable non-clinical location; or
  • another agreed location.

The provision of in-person or mobile services is subject to clinical judgement, safety considerations, availability, and geographical factors, and is not guaranteed.

6. Identity Verification

Prior to the provision of services, Buckinghamshire Medical will verify your identity. This may be completed remotely or in person and may include photographic identification and proof of address, in line with our policies and applicable guidance.

Failure to provide satisfactory identification may result in services being declined.

7. Prescribing and Medicines

Any decision to prescribe medication is made at the sole discretion of the prescribing clinician. Prescriptions are only issued where clinically appropriate and safe to do so.

Prescribing following a remote consultation is not always appropriate. A prescription may not be issued if the clinician considers that:

  • insufficient clinical information is available;
  • a physical examination is required;
  • further investigations or specialist input are needed; or
  • prescribing would not be in the patient’s best interests.

Patients are responsible for providing accurate and complete information about their medical history, medications, and allergies.

8. Fees and Payment

Fees for consultations, services, and products are displayed on our website or communicated at the time of booking. Payment is required in advance unless otherwise agreed.

Buckinghamshire Medical reserves the right to change fees, with updated fees applying to future bookings.

9. Cancellations and Non-Attendance

Cancellation terms will be communicated at the time of booking. Failure to attend a scheduled consultation or cancellation outside the stated notice period may result in charges being applied.

Where a consultation or review cannot proceed due to inaccurate information provided by the patient or failure to meet service requirements, refunds may not be issued.

10. Products and Non-Regulated Services

Buckinghamshire Medical may offer healthcare-related products or services that fall outside CQC-regulated activities, such as travel or wellbeing products.

The purchase of a product does not guarantee that a clinical consultation, review, or prescription will be provided.

Where appropriate, optional or conditional clinical review may be offered to support the safe use of a product. Clinical decisions, including whether review or prescribing is appropriate, are made independently and in accordance with clinical judgement and governance frameworks.

Product supply, clinical review, and prescribing decisions are treated as separate processes.

11. Confidentiality and Data Protection

Buckinghamshire Medical is committed to protecting patient confidentiality and complies with applicable data protection legislation.

Information you provide will be used for the purposes of delivering care, clinical governance, and regulatory compliance. Further details are available in our Privacy Policy.

12. Limitation of Liability

Buckinghamshire Medical will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control or from failure to follow medical advice provided.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits liability for death or personal injury arising from negligence where such limitation would be unlawful.

13. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service or products, you are encouraged to raise this with us as soon as possible. Complaints will be managed in accordance with our complaints procedure.

14. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

15. Changes to These Terms

Buckinghamshire Medical reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions. The most current version will always be available on our website.
